This is a great opportunity to make new friends and help White Lodge Centre to continue to provide its’vital services.
Can you spare sometime between October and December to help White Lodge Centre and other charities as a volunteer in a Card for Good Causes shop?
Cards For Good Causes shops sell cards on behalf of charities nationwide. The shops are open for 6-8 weeks in the run-up to Christmas in a variety of locations. Volunteers usually work one session per week, or one session per fortnight for the season. Most shops divide the day into two ‘sessions’, mornings (10am – 1pm) or afternoons (1pm – 4pm).
Shops are co-ordinated by a manager and full training is provided. There are normally two volunteers on duty together. Most shops close at least one week before Christmas, so we may not be looking for you to help out in the final run-up to Christmas.
This is a great opportunity to try volunteering on a short term basis in a friendly and fun environment.
Are you able to offer a few hours on an adhoc basis throughout the year?
We need volunteers to help spread awareness of our work and raise vital funds at local events, often in the evening or at weekends. Duties include assembling & running stalls, distributing leaflets and helping with collections.
Volunteers must enjoy meeting people and not be afraid to make an initial approach, being polite and friendly at all times. They will also need to be able to handle money and cash transactions.
*These opportunities are classed as urgent.
