Maintenance Assistant
Salary: £16,956.39 per annum
7.00am to 4.00pm


White Lodge Centre is looking for a pro-active, forward thinking and friendly individual for our Maintenance Department.

This is a full-time, 40 hours a week post, attracting six weeks annual leave plus bank and public holidays and pension scheme.

The post will involve both reactive and planned maintenance of the building and grounds directed by the Facilities Manager. Relevant experience for role, of both reactive and planned maintenance, in a trade/commercial setting including heating, or lighting, or plumbing, and with a trade qualification, together with an ability to undertake carpentry tasks.

You will need good communication skills, be a good team player and provide excellent customer service.  The role will require D1 Status on your driving licence (or a commitment to obtain D1 status).  You will also maintain our hydrotherapy pool, supported by the Co-ordinator, but we will support you to obtain a pool qualification.

For the role you are required to undertake an Occupational Health Assessment, undergo an immunisation programme to protect your health in the role and you are required to undertake an application to obtain an enhanced DBS status.

Trustees
We are looking for new Trustees to join our exceptional charity.

White Lodge Centre is a well established charity and we have just celebrated our 50th anniversary. We provide services and support to disabled children, young people and adults and their families.

The White Lodge Centre Trustee Board meets every six weeks and is responsible for the governance of the charity and its strategic direction and works closely with the Director to ensure sustainability for the future. Some of our current Trustees' terms of office will be ending in 2013/14 and we are looking for new prople to join the Board. We are particularly looking for applicants with experience in finance, marketing and human resources.

If you are interested in learning more about White Lodge Centre, we would like to invite you to our Open Evening on Monday 22 April 2013 at 7pm where you will have the opportunity to meet and chat informally with our current Trustees. There will also be a short presentation about White Lodge Centre and what being a Trustee involves.

Adult and Community Support Service Vacancies

Leisure and Life Skills Assistant
Permanent Part Time
Salary: £8.80 per hour
21 hours per week – Also looking for bank staff

Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting disabled people to achieve personal goals through planned activity programmes. Initiate and facilitate leisure and life skills groups e.g. music, cookery, memory skills and hydrotherapy. Support individuals with personal care needs as necessary.

Senior Leisure and Life Skills Assistant
Salary: £20,972.81
36 hours per week

To be part of a multi-disciplinary team that actively promotes the independence of disabled people. Working closely with the Rendezvous Co-ordinator in overseeing the day to day running of the centre. This is both a hands on and developmental role.

Part-time Support Workers
Salary: £8.80 per hour
To work one shift each weekend and between 2-4 shifts each week of school holidays (12 weeks per year) – salary would be paid out evenly throughout the year on a monthly basis (rough guide based on working one shift per weekend and three shifts per week in holidays is £484.00 per month throughout the year).
This position would ideally suit people who work in schools.

We currently have more male than female children and young people at Treetops, but are currently underrepresented by male employees to support our clients. As part of our ‘positive action campaign’ we are looking to increase male workers within the care sector, and whilst we generally wish to receive applications from both male and female applicants, we encourage applications from men in order that our service can be enhanced for our visitors.

You must:
• Hold a relevant level 3 qualification or be working towards one (e.g. NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, Workforce Diploma, NNEB, CACHE)
• Be able to attend mandatory training courses and Induction Standards training
• Be a minimum of 21 years of age
• Have past experience of working in a childcare/young person setting, preferably a disabled persons setting

Summary of tasks:
• To listen to children wishes and choices and action where possible
• To plan and run appropriate activities that meets the needs of all the children and young people
• To help and support the young people in all aspects of personal care respecting their dignity at all times
• To work as a team in a professional environment where the children are the most important aspect of the shift

Speech and Language Therapist
Salary: Salary is competitive £12,934 per annum (£31,041 FTE or £18.19 per hour) for 42 working weeks.
Required for maternity cover (15 hours per week) or Bank staff will be considered.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with neonates and preschool children with Cerebral Palsy, and other similar neurological conditions.  You will work in a specialist centre and be part of a friendly, well established and highly specialist multi-disciplinary team.

The post requires a minimum of 5 years' post graduate experience. You will have highly specialist skills in the assessment and management of complex neonate and/or paediatric Dysphagia. It would be desirable to have specialist skills in the assessment and management of low, medium and high tech AAC strategies.  Applicants must be HPCP registered and be a member of the RCSLT.

Support Worker – Domiciliary Care Team
Salary: £9.41 per hour
Evening work, weekend work or as a second job

Providing support to children and young people up to the age of 18 who have autism/physical disability can be hard work but very rewarding. We are specifically looking for staff who can work regular Monday, Tuesday and Friday evenings from 4.30pm onwards and/or weekends between 10.00am and 4.00pm.

As a Support Worker, you may work on an individual basis at the child/young person’s home or alternatively out in the community accessing various activities. Applicants need to demonstrate good communication and listening skills with the ability to build positive relationships as some children and young people we support may demonstrate behaviours that challenge.

Ideally you already have a relevant NVQ 2 qualification or be willing to work towards achieving the qualification. A driving licence, access to own transport and business insurance is essential. Work is available in the Runnymede and Woking areas. A commitment to working regular hours is essential.

Mini Bus Driver / Playworker
Salary: £8.80 per hour

White Lodge Centre runs a number of play and youth schemes specifically for disabled children and young people at venues in Runnymede, Spelthorne and Elmbridge. Most schemes run during the Easter and Summer holidays with some Saturday provision.

We now require a mini bus driver to help out during these times. It is essential that the candidate has availability and is flexible during these times. Experience required of working with young individuals 13 to 18 year olds that may have a disability or additional support needs.

Candidates must have a D1 on their licence and will require an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check to be completed. The successful candidate will undergo MIDAS training.
