Treetops
Our
new short-term activity breaks centre was officially opened on 20th
September 2006. This fantastic state-of-the-art facility can provide
essential breaks for up to six children aged up
to 12 years in a home-from-home environment. The children take part
in a wide range of activities and outings, which are planned by
the staff team in consultation with the children visiting.
Stays range
from teatime and day sessions to overnight stays with new friends.
The environment in Treetops is bright and colourful and staff work
hard to ensure that children enjoy their stay.
The building
is a result of a fundraising appeal which was kick-started by an
amazing £1 million donation from the ACT Foundation. Planning
for the transition started during June 2005 with photographs being
taken of the new building as it was being built so that parents
and children were able to be a part of the development. The parents
group at the old Cottage raised £3,250 for equipment, all
of which is now installed at Treetops.
We say a huge
thank you to all who donated funds towards the
new building with a special mention to the ACT Foundation
for their continued support and Broadway Malyan for delivering another
great building that will be enjoyed by future generations.
Treetops is
the next success story in waiting for White Lodge's 45-year history
serving the local community.
