We recognise that turning 18 can be a daunting time for anyone as you are suddenly expected to be an adult. We understand that for those with disabilities it can be even more challenging and our aim is to provide fun and social opportunities to aid this transition into adulthood. Our staff are very dedicated, experienced and are trained specifically to support people with disabilities, providing a reliable, responsive and dynamic service. This new service is accessed through assessment by White Lodge Centre.
This is an exciting new service at Rendezvous at White Lodge Centre. We are passionate about supporting those with disabilities of all ages and want to give young adults the opportunity to access fun, social and engaging activities. Rendezvous is a great purpose-built resource centre, providing a wide range of facilities and activities. This service is open to those with a learning disability, physical disability and /or neurological condition.
Our unique facilities include an art room, fitness suite, landscaped gardens, accessible kitchen, café and more. On site we also have a hydrotherapy pool that provides unique benefits to muscles and limbs and a chill out room to enable a sensory experience.
This social environment will provide opportunities to get active and healthy with swimming, dance, cookery and fitness alongside encouraging creativity with art and craft, drama and music.
Members are encouraged to help plan activities which will be based around the young adults own interests and hobbies in order to ensure that activities are enjoyed by all.
Getting out and about
We take advantage to visit some of the great places available in our area using both public transport and our own vehicles. This gives our members the opportunity to explore the wider community and develop their travel and social skills. Trips include – cinema, bowling, shopping, swimming, pub lunches and visiting places of interest like the zoo. We ensure that we access all that our great local community has to offer.
Our main goal is for the young people to have fun and socialise with others in order to help make and maintain friendships and to benefit their leisure and life skills.
